Overview

Made with higher quality materials than the Contender Evo and the Contender 2.0, the Venum Power 2.0 is one of the better gis that Venum makes.

It’s slightly less priced than the Venum Elite 3.0 and the Venum Classic 2.0, but it offers plenty for its price, mainly in terms of durability.

Construction

The Venum Power 2.0 features a 450gsm cotton (imported) pearl weave jacket and 280gsm ripstop pants. There are a number of reinforcements all around the gi, and that is one of the things that we like about it so much.

On the inner side of the jacket, you will see reinforcement in the side vents and the sleeves, and as for the pants, they have knee reinforcements. The collar on the jacket is an EVA collar, which is extremely durable and it dries out very quickly after washing.

This gi is not flashy at all, and the couple of logos that you can see are all embodied in the gi quite well and look pretty classy.

Comfort & Fit

While the primary purpose of this gi is durability and not ultimate comfort, it’s still safe to say that the Venum Power 2.0 Gi is comfortable enough for most BJJ practitioners. Both the jacket and the pants are fairly soft to the touch, and they will soften up even more after a couple of washes.

The fit is also very good, and it doesn’t give you a lot of bulk or anything like that, but you might consider going one size up.

Durability

Now, this is where this gi excels. It’s built with a mission to be as durable as a pearl weave gi can be, and it does it brilliantly. It can withstand rigorous training over long periods of time without showing any signs of damage.

As mentioned before, the gi is made with a cotton/polyester blend material. This means that it will absorb moisture quite well, and if you sweat a lot, then you won’t have to worry about the gi getting wet.

Conclusion
